I am a freelance website designer specializing in custom wordpress themes. I make my living doing this and other freelance activities. Besides working with wordpress and digital imaging on my own I have taken college and graduate school level classes on web and graphic design.
My custom wordpress themes are simple and functional. They do not have flash or anything fancy except images. Websites should be easy to read, pleasent to look at, and fast. These are the types of wordpress themes I try to make. I also focus on making my wordpress themes as search engine optimized as possible, and I have several techniques that others simply do not know about or care to put in their designs.
Wordpress is great software but it is important to have your own original wordpress theme if you want your site to be taken seriously. If someone comes to your site and sees a theme that they’ve seen on other sites they will not be impressed. For small businesses, musicians and performers, or any other professional based site this is extremely important. There are free wordpress themes you can download but most of them cant approach the functionality and search engine optimization that I can give you, all while creating a modern, original design that will attract positive attention.
